What devices are supported?
Vlogger Studio requires an iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later, or an Android device running Android 9.0 (API 28) or later. iPad and Android tablets are also supported.
Is Vlogger Studio free to use?

Do I need a YouTube channel to use the app?
Yes. You need a Google account with a YouTube channel to create and broadcast live streams.
Account & Sign-In
How do I create an account?
You can sign up using:
- Google — Tap "Continue with Google" on the Welcome screen.
- Apple — Tap "Sign in with Apple" (uses Face ID / Touch ID).
- Email — Tap "Create Account" and fill in your name, email, and password (minimum 6 characters).
I didn't receive the verification email. What should I do?
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure the email address is correct.
- Wait a few minutes — email delivery can be delayed.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Can I sign in with a different method than I signed up with?

YouTube Account Linking
How do I link my YouTube account?
- From the Live Control Center, tap Link YouTube Account.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns your YouTube channel.
- Grant permission when prompted.
What permissions does the app need?
Vlogger Studio requests the youtube.force-ssl scope, which allows it to:
- Read your YouTube channel information
- Create and manage live broadcasts
- Create and manage live streams
The app does not have access to your YouTube videos, comments, subscribers, or other channel data beyond live streaming.
Can I link a different YouTube channel?
Yes. First delink your current account:
- Tap the link icon next to your channel name on the Live Control Center.
- Tap Delink YouTube Account and confirm.
- Then link a new account.
I get "No YouTube channel found" when linking. What do I do?
The Google account you signed in with doesn't have a YouTube channel. You need to:
- Go to youtube.com and sign in with that Google account.
- Create a YouTube channel.
- Return to Vlogger Studio and try linking again.
I see "API access denied" when linking. Why?
This usually means YouTube's API access has been restricted for your account. Try:
- Signing in with a different Google account.
- Checking if your YouTube channel has any restrictions or strikes.
I see "Missing refresh token" error. How do I fix it?
- Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Find "Vlogger Studio" and revoke access.
- Return to the app and link your account again, making sure to grant all requested permissions.
Enabling YouTube Live
Why does YouTube say Live is "Not Enabled"?
YouTube requires new channels to verify their identity (usually via phone number) before live streaming is permitted. This can take up to 24 hours after verification.
How do I enable YouTube Live?
- Tap Enable in YouTube Studio on the Live Control Center or the Link YouTube screen.
- Follow YouTube's verification steps (typically entering a phone number).
- Wait up to 24 hours.
- Return to Vlogger Studio and pull down to refresh or tap Refresh Status.
It's been 24 hours and Live still shows "Not Enabled."
- Make sure you completed YouTube's verification process fully.
- Try tapping Refresh Status or pull down to refresh.
- Open YouTube Studio in a browser and check your live streaming status under Settings Channel Feature eligibility.
- If still not enabled, contact YouTube support.

- Private — Only you can see the stream.
What is the "Made for Kids" setting?
YouTube requires all content to be designated as either made for children or not. Selecting Yes indicates the content is directed at children and may limit certain features (comments, notifications, etc.) per YouTube's COPPA compliance rules.
Can I use a custom thumbnail?
Yes. When creating or editing a stream, select Custom under Thumbnail, then pick an image from your photo library. The image will be cropped to 16:9 aspect ratio. Maximum file size: 1.5 MB.

Streaming & Broadcasting
How do I start streaming?
- Create a stream (or tap an existing one on the Live Control Center).
- On the Broadcast Detail screen, tap Start Streaming.
- On the RTMP screen, tap the record button (red circle).
- The app will connect to YouTube and automatically transition your broadcast from testing to live.
How do I stop streaming?
Tap the record button (it shows a red square while streaming). The app will stop the RTMP stream and transition your YouTube broadcast to "complete."
What do the stream statuses mean?
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Stream is created but not yet started. |
| Testing | Stream is connected and sending data, but not visible to viewers yet. |
| Live | Stream is live and visible to your audience on YouTube. |
| Complete | Stream has ended. |
Can I stream again from a completed broadcast?
No. Once a broadcast is marked as "complete," it cannot be restarted. You need to create a new stream.
What does the "LIVE" badge mean?
The red LIVE badge appears on screen when your broadcast is actually live on YouTube and visible to viewers.
Why does it take a moment to go live after I press record?
The app goes through several automated steps:
- Connects to YouTube's RTMP ingest server.
- Waits for the stream data to be received by YouTube.
- Transitions the broadcast from "testing" to "live."
This typically takes 10–30 seconds depending on your connection.

What resolutions are supported?
| Resolution | Recommended Upload Speed |

- If your device doesn't support a resolution (e.g., 4K on older iPhones), that option will be grayed out.
Why is my stream at a lower resolution than I selected?
If the camera cannot deliver the requested resolution, the app will automatically fall back to the closest available resolution and show a notice on screen.

What is "Backup Ingest"?

When enabled (default), the app automatically begins the go-live process when you press the record button — transitioning through testing to live without additional steps.
What is "Auto Stop"?

What is the RTMP Test option?
A testing tool for advanced users. When enabled in Settings Stream Defaults RTMP Test, a button appears on the Live Control Center that lets you test RTMP streaming to any URL and stream key without creating a YouTube broadcast.
Troubleshooting
The camera shows a black screen.
- Make sure you've granted camera permission to Vlogger Studio in your device settings (iOS Settings Privacy Camera, or Android Settings Apps Vlogger Studio Permissions).
- Try closing the app completely and reopening it.
- If the issue persists after navigating between screens, close and reopen the app.
I can't hear audio on my stream.
- Make sure you've granted microphone permission in your device settings.
- Check that the Mute button is not active (microphone icon should not have a line through it).
I get a "network speed" warning before streaming.
The app checks your connection before streaming begins. If you're on cellular or the detected speed is lower than recommended for your selected resolution, you'll see a warning. You can:
- Switch to Wi-Fi.
- Lower the resolution.
- Tap Continue Anyway to stream regardless.
My stream keeps buffering or dropping quality.
- Switch to a lower resolution (720p or 480p).
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Avoid streaming over cellular if possible.
- Try enabling Backup Ingest from the gear menu.
The app says "Stream session ended."
This means the RTMP connection was terminated. The broadcast has been transitioned to "complete." You need to create a new stream to go live again.
Why does the resolution say "Fallback" on screen?
Your device doesn't support the resolution you selected. The app automatically chose the closest available resolution. To avoid this, select a supported resolution in Settings.
I'm getting "auth expired" or "token refresh" errors.
Your YouTube authorization may have expired. Try:
- Going to the Link YouTube screen.
- Tapping Re-link Account to refresh your authorization.
YouTube says my broadcast failed to start.
- Check your internet connection.
- Make sure your YouTube Live is enabled.
- Try creating a new stream.
- If the problem continues, check YouTube's live streaming status page.
The app is asking for camera/microphone permissions again.
If you previously denied permissions, you'll need to enable them manually:
- Open your device Settings (iOS Settings or Android Settings apps).
- Scroll to and tap Vlogger Studio.
- Enable Camera and Microphone.
